Stonyhill Farm?

When we came home from the closing on our house back in 1996, we found a basket of house plants on the hearth from the former homeowner that said "Welcome to Shaggyhill, may the next 50 years be as wonderful as the first".  It was such a lovely surprise and the first time we'd heard the property called Shaggyhill.  Over the years, Paul, with the help of various farm animals, has cleared a considerable amount of the shag on the hill.  On the way up from the sheep the other day, I looked up and thought, hmm...
...Stonyhill might be more appropriate right now!

Oh, yes, lemon bars!  Lemon bars are a childhood favorite of mine.  These beauties contain gluten, but the beautiful and talented Katalina says she'll be making batches of gluten free lemon bars in the near future!

I'll be keeping a watch on her facebook page to find out when!

Emma found Katalina's Cupcakes while strolling around New Haven waiting for her bus after school one day.  It was quite a find!  Katalina regularly has gluten free items - YUM!

We splurged recently, while Paul was away at a conference ;-)

First Dinner on the Deck

Turkey burgers and roasted broccoli - yum!  Annie surprised us by setting the table on the deck and making some homemade lemonade.

We don't even have the deck furniture out yet.  She set up a card table and dragged out our dining room chairs.  Thanks, Annie!!

Annie's candles in reflection

Annie's candles are reflected above our field stone fireplace in a ridiculously heavy mirror I lugged home from Goodwill and painted blue, rocks and more rocks (one is shaped in a heart!), a Dr. Suessical sculpture (made by Annie), a stick too good to pass up, a subway style sign my brother gave me for Christmas two years ago, and off in the distance my karate board photo gallery (read about that here: karate board photo gallery) -- all bathed in a gentle, sweet blue hue.  The ceiling fan...well, I'm just ignoring it here, but it gives us great pleasure in the summer!!!
