Royal, is a close up shot of my television cabinet.
I turned on the TV to get the weather and got sucked right
into watching "The Royal Wedding".
Emma got a kick out of saying they had to eat cereal for breakfast and buy hot lunch because mom couldn't tear herself away from the TV to prepare those meals.
It was beautiful!
All my best to the couple!
Low Contrast, Revealed

Low Contrast was a shot of the window in the public restroom at our town hall.
I stopped in there while picking up Annie from school the other day. I had been searching all day for a low contrast photo and viola! There it was.

The Daily Shoot #508, Low Contrast
I was finding the "make a low contrast picture" assignment to be a tough one! I kept thinking I'd taken one only to find out it was definitely not low contrast. Then, I was surprised to find a perfect opportunity in an unexpected location. I only caught it because I now take my camera where ever I go!
Pack, Revealed

When the 7th graders return from Nature's Classroom, all of their luggage arrives prior to the students. It is laid out all along the school driveway.
Pack is a photo of Emma's requisite "contractor's grade" garbage bag with some duck tape markings to help me identify it in the sea of bags.
Welcome home, Emma!

Last month, Emma was bitten by a horse which broke the tippy bone in her finger.
Her color guard coach was unhappy to say the least! The finger injury came after an earlier knee injury which occurred when her father took her sledding between practice and competition one Saturday in February. We have a running joke with the color guard coach that next year she is to do no other activities during color guard season - no school play, no horse riding, and no sledding!
Emma had practice on April Fool's day (the day before championships) and we couldn't resist the opportunity to play a joke. We bandaged up her fingers and told a very convincing story that she had been hurt playing basketball at school earlier that day.
Woa, Nelly! While it was played perfectly, and everyone else appreciated the humor, it wasn't until the next day - championships - after the guard twirled superbly (and nothing had gone wrong) that the coach finally was able to laugh.
We got him good! Poor guy!

Yesterday's photo was a close up of this bench.
It was Paul's toy work bench from his childhood. My mother-in-law had been using it as part of her Christmas decoration display all these years. On a visit in January, I found it in the pile of things that needed to go. I think she left it there on purpose, knowing that I wouldn't be able to let it go in the trash or recycling.
I'm known for collecting the family's precious "junk".
I truly do love this little bit of Paul's past and it works perfectly as our kitchen stool.

I am really feeling at a loss for what to photograph.
Everything feels dreary and dusty and ordinary.
I usually love ordinary. But, dreary, dusty ordinary isn't doing it for me today.
A 365 project is tough at times when I just can't quite grasp what I'm
looking for ~ when I struggle with seeing things with an artistic eye.
I hope I'm in a short-lived rut.
I will try to just chill about it and trust that something will strike me
in that certain way I've come to love.
In the meantime, this month's totally optional Creative Every Day theme is 'small'.
I am considering photographing a small part of something one day
and the next day show the larger view. I've done this before and I'm not really *feeling it* in this moment. It doesn't feel like a tremendously inspired idea right now.
Too recycled.
Blah.
I don't hate today's photo. I think it has an interesting quality.
But...ack.
I have to move on. I will just go about my day and
keep an eye tuned the world around me.
In scribbling out this post, it just struck me that I'm feeling pent up and constricted by the too small space of the world around me right now. Lots of stuck inside at home, at work, in the car, in the harried schedule of things to do.
I think a little expansiveness
~ in space and time and variety ~
would be lovely right now.
I'm bored of seeing the same things.
I'm bored of trying to see the same things in a different way.
I just plain want to see new things!
Well.
Alrighty then.
There it is.
Hmmm.
Of course, too much expansiveness scares the crapola out of me!
Geez, Louise.
It's one of those days!
