Twas the night before Friday and all through the house
the creatures where napping, there'd better not be a mouse.
The stockings were hung by the chimney with care
and the kids clueless that St. Nicholas soon would be there.
The Bogush Family, all nestled at home
while visions of (the just completed game of) "Sorry" danced in their heads.
And the girls off to bed, parents breathing deeply,
had just settled in for a quick show on TV.
When out in the driveway there arose such a clatter.
Em sprang from the room to check on the matter.
Away to the window she flew like a flash,
we don't have shutters, she peeked through the sash.
Emma shrieked, and ran quickly to see some more
Annie caught on, pulled off her socks, then out the door
When, what to our wondering eyes should appear,
But three, no four, firetrucks instead of reindeer.
Thank you, Woodbridge Volunteer Fire Department (my employer)!
Better than any "Christmas bonus", you bring magic to my children and are making
precious and unforgettable memories for this family.
